This week’s letter is going to be a little bit different than the ones I have sent out in the last few months. Today, I am sharing roundup of the resources that have been essential in my personal and professional growth in 2019.
Why am I sharing all of my favorite resources with you?
Because 2019 has been one of the most transformational years of my life (and that is saying a lot because transformation has been a major theme in my life.) and I want you to get in on the action if you are ready to transform your life and your business is 2020.
Check these people out, show them love, support them, and take in their wisdom. They will not lead you astray as we move into a new decade.
So without further ado… Let’s get into the goods…
Energetic Justice – with Kelly Germain + Kelly Elizabeth
I participated in the Energetic Justice Certification in 2018, this year was essential in the integration process. Energetic Justice is a place for white folks to come into relationship with whiteness, to heal from white supremacy, and to get grounded in their ancestral spiritual practice. I could not be more proud to be a part of this community. Check out Energetic Justice for support on your journey to remember who you are beyond your whiteness, and to reclaim your power as a catalyst for Collective Liberation.
adrienne maree brown – Author, Facilitator + Organizer
adrienne’s book Emergent Strategy is helping me come to terms with the interconnectedness of everything, and it has allowed me to see that nature really does have the answers we are seeking. Adrienne maree brown’s work in Emergent Strategy is a powerful resource for Organizers, Business Owners, and Healers who are aligning themselves with collective justice. She also has a podcast, a blog, and is active on Instagram.
Medicine Stories – Amber Hill
Over the last few years, this podcast has been a catalyst for so much of my own healing and growth. Amber brings some amazing guests in to talk about everything from ancestral healing, to herbal wellness, to personal transformation through earth-based spirituality. Some of my favorite episodes include No.48 with Emillee Saldaya, No. 52 with Tamira Cousett, No. 38 with Lyla June, and both No. 27 + No. 19 with Darla Antoine.
The Untold History of Healing – Wolf D. Storl
This book holds healing wisdom from around the globe, including Traditional European Medicine which has been mostly eclipsed by Western medicine. The wisdom that Strol shares is powerful for anyone looking to explore how to connect more deeply with the Earth and ancient healing practices that have been all but lost.
Kelly Diels – Feminist Copywriter
If you are a business owner, content creator, or if you have an interest in intersectional feminism, Kelly Diels is the real deal. She is a feminist copywriter, marketing consultant, and her weekly emails are pure jet fuel for encouraging womxn and culture maker (hint: we’re all culture makers) to reclaim their power, and take action for justice. Coming into contact with Kelly’s work was a major turning point for me. She helped me feel exponentially more confident in my abilities to be a successful business owner, content creator, and culture maker.
Getting Curious – Jonathan Van Ness
If we learned one thing as a collective in 2019, it’s that infotainment is a POWERFUL pathway for learning. And Getting Curious is a wonderful + entertaining podcast that interviews forward thinking leaders in the fields of social justice, environmentalism, and Psychology, hosted by Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness. (aka my favorite person of 2019)
That’s Not How That Works – With Trudi LeBron + Louiza Doran (aka Weeze)
This podcast came into my awareness in September of this year, but in just a few months I have listened to most of the episodes, because they are soooo good. That’s Not How that Works looks at how Spiritual Bypassing, Racism, Cultural Appropriation, and other harmful behaviors show up in the coaching and personal development space, and Trudi + Weeze provide powerful analysis of how things can be better.
I hope that these resources are as powerful for you as they have been for me. I would love to hear your thoughts as you explore them.
Also, if you have a resource that aligns with the topics of Justice Informed Business, or Spiritual Activism, I would LOVE to check it out. Go ahead and shoot an email to hello@laurenelizabethcoaching.com, and send your resources my way.
