“I read that she was confirmed and I felt something break in my heart.
I cried real tears for our marginalized communities and our humanity!
Reminder: It’s okay to be human right now and in your feels”
Take care of yourself & each other”

This year has been hard.
We’ve faced a global pandemic, social uprisings, manipulative political propaganda, and yesterday a highly conservative Supreme Court Justice was confirmed and her positions on racism, abortion, and gender equality are terrifying for anyone who isn’t a white, Christian, conservative, cis-gendered man.
And with just a week left before the US Presidential election, I can tell that my nervous system is on edge.
If you’ve been feeling the same, I want to share a message that has been helpful for me:
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed.
It’s okay to feel angry, sad, scared, and/or confused.
We are navigating increasingly complicated times, it’s okay if you aren’t all love and light, and high vibes.
Remembering how to feel these so-called “negative” sensations and emotions is a radical act.
The current system hoards power by avoiding accountability. It avoids accountability by teaching people to bypass their reactions to injustice.
Denying or repressing our anger, fear, sadness, etc., allows the current system to keep playing by it’s oppressive rules.
Bypassing our emotions, and suppressing our reactions to injustice, oppression, and/or harm will not help us create the culture that we deserve.
So please…
Take some time to let yourself feel.
Feel your full humanity, unapologetically… then figure out what steps you can take to support yourself and your community.
The Capitalist system can only win if we stay disconnected and forget that we are really in this together.
It’s time to come together to build a better system and a more supportive culture.
Love + Liberation
