Hi, I’m Lauren Elizabeth (she/her/hers)

And I believe that your business has the power to create radical social, cultural, and systemic change.

For the last three years, I have been supporting online business owners to build and grow businesses that align with their feminist values through 1:1 coaching, online courses + workshops.

I help my clients cultivate courage by helping them gain radical clarity, develop culture building skills, and implement feminist business practices.

Our work together is about creating business strategies that resist the Capitalist Routine.

A little bit of backstory…

From a young age, I was drawn to history, language, mythology and anything else that would allow me to explore the complexity and variety of the human experience.

Around the age of 14 I began exploring witchcraft and earth based spiritual practices, in an attempt to understand some unexplained mystical experiences.

After High School, I attended San Francisco State University where I studied Philosophy of Religion, with a focus on Islamic Mysticism + Feminist Ethics.

While living in San Francisco, I explored New Age Spiritual Circles, Plant Medicine, Ecstatic Dance, and the underground electronic music scene.your

In 2014, I started my first business. I taught workshops on Feminine Empowerment, held Women’s Circles, both in person, and online, and began offering 1:1 coaching to help the women in my community align their personal lives and their business with the cycles of the Moon.

Pretty quickly I could feel something was off…

I noticed that my own business and many of my colleagues in the online spiritual business space were replicating many of the harmful behaviors that I had learned about in my feminist studies.  The same behaviors my peers complained about in their corporate jobs.

I realized that Patriarchy, Capitalism, Racism, etc. had infiltrated (or perhaps had always been a part of) the online feminine empowerment and New Age spiritual spaces.

Using shame, pain, and fear to sell, was just business as usual.

Supporting supply chains that utilize slave labor, was just business as usual.

Replicating harmful patriarchal patterns, was just business as usual.

I knew I didn’t want ANY part of it.

So I started researching ethical business practices and found that there were people building business in integrity!

In 2018, I took everything I had learned in four years of running a business online, and I integrated it with what I was learning from social justice movements.

And a new business was born.

A business for the people. For the planet. For the future. For love. For liberation.

Frameworks and traditions that have shaped my work

I received my B.A. in Philosophy and Religion with a focus in Islamic Mysticism + Feminist Ethics at San Francisco State University in 2012. (And I was the first person in my family to get a college degree!)

I got certified as an Energetic Justice Practitioner in 2018, because I needed a framework to help me blend my spiritual practice and visionary activism.

In 2019, I completed an online Racialized Trauma Course with Resmaa Menakem to help me further understand how racial capitalism impacts our bodies and our communities.

I am trained as a Feminist Copywriter and that training has helped me refine my language and stand confidently in the power of my vision.

I have also spent almost 10 years training + education in a variety of energy healing modalities, oracle traditions, and ancestral healing practices which help keep me grounded in my earth centered spiritual practice.

What does all this mean for you?

I take a justice-informed, trauma-aware approach to help you integrate your values and your vision into your business model.

I help you create clear, unique messaging that speaks directly to your work + your unique brilliance.

I know how to listen for the subtle truth that lives below the surface and bring it forth to help you see just how powerful you are.

I can help you weave the visionary and the practical so that the full spectrum of your vision can come alive in your radical work.

I can help you develop a critical analysis of systems of oppression so that you can address your blind spots and avoid replicating harmful behavior in your business.

My Ancestral Lineage

My mother’s people come from the lands known as Southern Italy, France, Germany and from the Cherokee Nation here on Turtle Island.

My Father’s people came to the so-called United States from the lands known as England, Scotland, and Wales.

I share my ancestral lineage, because my ancestors path informs my own. As a white, straight, cis-gendered, able-bodied woman, living on stolen land, I have access to a high level of unjustified privilege. It is my vision and mission to use that privilege to help bring equity, justice, and revolution to the business world.

My path has also been influenced and informed by:

Colleen Torelli – For validating my passion and helping 12 year old Lauren see that she didn’t have to follow the crowd to be valuable. Your enthusiasm for and dedication to education + truth telling has always been endlessly inspiring and fortifying.

Robert Liroff – For helping me feel confident putting my radical ideas into words for other people to read. And for being one of the few high school teachers that encouraged me to be critical of systems and power dynamics, I am eternally grateful for your guidance during such wild years.

Prof. Muhamad Azadpur – PhD in Islamic Philosophy – For showing me an entire lineage of philosophers who were spiritual, political, academic, and seeking to live ethically.

Enid Nolasco – Branding Designer – For lovingly crafting my very first professional brand and website. You helped me understand the power of a cohesive brand voice and aesthetic, and gave me tools to maintain and upgrade my brand as I grow.

Nannette Minley – Intuitive Business Coach – For showing me that my business can be spiritual, profitable and fun. Your support helped me feel more confident as a coach and as a business owner.

Energetic Justice – For helping me unpack and understand whiteness, colonization, and life under capitalism. For connecting me with comrades. For helping me map out a framework for integrating the visionary, political and academic parts of me so I can contribute in the way I do.

Kelly Diels – Feminist Copywriter and Marketing Consultant – For helping me shift away from the basic (and harmful) marketing strategies that are so prevalent in the online business world today. Thank you for all of your frameworks for creating copy that sells without using manipulative and dis-empowering tactics.

Other educators, creatives, communities, activists, authors and comrades who have contributed to my power, perspectives + world view:

adrienne maree brown, EbonyJanice Moore, Jacqueline Keeler, Resmaa Menakem, Kelly Elizabeth, Dr. Kimberlé Crenshaw, Octavia Butler, Louiza Doran, Spirit House Inc,  Racial Equity Institute, Mark Charles, Audre Lorde, Ashley Morris, Kate Hockett, Andia Katz, and of course, my husband and partner in kindness Max Smoot.

Still here? Wow… Thanks for reading all about me, my path, my practice, and my people.
